Hello everyone, how are you doing? After a couple of months away from all things Blue Jay, I’m slowly finding my way back. The time away has honestly been better than I could have imagined.
I had time and space to rest, refuel and feel inspired again. I regained the spark of creativity that had been snubbed out by the pressure I was putting on myself to succeed as a coach.
For the time being, I’ve decided to remove my coaching services and focus on writing, podcasts and creating digital products like e-books and online workshops. The coaching skills I’ve learnt aren’t going anywhere and if I choose to return to coaching one day, they’ll still be there. For now though, I want to release the pressure I was putting on myself and focus on what brings me joy.
My purpose remains the same and in fact I’ve updated my tag line here to reflect it more accurately:
“Helping you value yourself, your needs and your impact.”
This encapsulates all the areas I’m passionate about supporting with. Valuing yourself refers to your core self-worth and the self-belief and confidence that stems from this. Valuing your needs is all about making time for self-care, setting boundaries and spending time on what you need to be happy and fulfilled. Valuing your impact means recognising that your voice is needed and you have something to offer the world.
What will change here
A core value of mine that I realised I’d been neglecting before taking a break is creativity, especially within my writing. So I plan to nurture this by publishing articles over on Medium. The idea of creating for a different platform makes me excited to write and I think it’ll bring out the best in me.
I’ll still write here as well, but perhaps less often and likely in a different style than the pieces over on Medium. And of course, my newsletter is still one of my favourite places to write and I’ll now resume writing these monthly with my next one going out on 27th Sept.
The podcast will also be coming back! I’ve really missed recording these and am excited about the topics I plan to cover in season three.
I’ve released my first e-book, deciding to give it away rather than sell because, frankly, I didn’t have the energy to sell it! And I want as many people to get value from it as possible. It’s called Growth Spurt: Sprout + Seedling and it’s all about identifying limiting beliefs and the first steps to growing self-worth and confidence.
I’ve shared the link to the e-book over on my new ko-fi page, where you can buy me a coffee if you’d like to support me.
I plan to create more e-books in the future and start offering workshops on various topics. But the important thing for me is to do all of this… slowly. I’ll no longer work evenings after my day-job. I won’t cram as much as humanly possible into my Blue Jay Fridays.
I’ll take everything at a slower pace, ensuring I have space to learn, read and get inspired. I’ll focus on quality over quantity and re-affirm my boundaries around social media. This hiatus has taught me a lot and I don’t want these lessons to evaporate. I hope you all understand and for those who have stuck with me, thank you - I’m excited to start creating again.
