How to have more good days

December 1, 2019November 29, 20192 Comments

A couple of months ago I had a period of pretty low mood. I was unmotivated, exhausted and feeling ‘meh’ most days. Thankfully, I pulled myself out of that funk (and wrote about it here) but when I look back at it, coming out of it started with one good day. I remember waking up … Continue reading How to have more good days

Monthly mindscape – kids

November 24, 2019November 22, 2019Leave a comment

Another month has come and gone as always in the blink of an eye. I always start feeling reflective at this time of year, looking back at the year and thinking how much has changed, or indeed how much has not changed. This idea of looking back is, I believe, going to come through in … Continue reading Monthly mindscape – kids

How to find motivation for life again

November 17, 2019November 15, 20192 Comments

Ooft, this is a bit of a dramatic title isn’t it? But I think all of us can have those moments when motivation for anything is lacking. Maybe work isn’t firing you up like it usually does, or life admin is getting on top of you. I’ve been there (pretty recently actually) and know how … Continue reading How to find motivation for life again

Monthly mindscape – storm

October 27, 2019October 25, 20192 Comments

Well, October just flew by didn’t it? I probably feel that way because I had a lovely break at the start of this month, so I had to squish some work into the remaining weeks. It’s been a month of connection, that’s for sure. Lots of meetings, dinners and talking which has been pretty wonderful.  … Continue reading Monthly mindscape – storm

What I do on social media free Saturdays

October 20, 2019October 18, 20196 Comments

Earlier this year I took a glorious five days away from social media - which may not sound like much, but for someone who spends almost every day without fail on social media (for work and pleasure), it felt revolutionary.  I took a break from everything that week, including work, and it really helped to … Continue reading What I do on social media free Saturdays

Monthly Mindscape – People Watching

September 29, 2019September 6, 2019Leave a comment

We are officially heading into the last quarter of the year, I wonder how your year has been so far? Personally I’m very much ready for a rest and thankfully I’m actually in the midst of a break from work right now. Feel like I need a moment to pause, breathe and gear myself up … Continue reading Monthly Mindscape – People Watching

The moments that shape us

September 15, 2019September 13, 20196 Comments

The idea for this blog post was inspired by Huma Qureshi and her beautiful post on memoirs. As I read it I was nodding along, thinking about the way I like to write and how amazing it is to capture memories in this way.  I’ve always been a documenter of sorts. I started writing in … Continue reading The moments that shape us

Monthly mindscape – Silent

August 25, 2019August 2, 2019Leave a comment

How on earth are we coming to the end of summer? Time moves in incredible ways, doesn’t it. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful August, I’m really looking forward to writing this month’s short story. I’m listening to Trills, a band that I think is the *perfect* soundtrack for writing.  The image I’ve chosen … Continue reading Monthly mindscape – Silent

5 tips to fall in love with reading again

August 4, 2019August 2, 20192 Comments

One of my goals for this year was to read more and it’s something I have really stuck to. I’ve gotten through 8 books so far, and while this may not sound like a lot to some people - keep in mind that my aim was to read 10 in 2019 (!!) so considering that … Continue reading 5 tips to fall in love with reading again

Monthly mindscape – clean

July 28, 2019July 26, 2019Leave a comment

How is your summer going so far? Mine started off in a flurry of activity but is slowly calming down, which is nice. We’re at the end of July which means it’s time for another piece of flash fiction. Every month I find an image on Instagram that inspires me and flex my creative writing … Continue reading Monthly mindscape – clean

This is your annual reminder to take a breath 🙏 stop looking at what everyone else is doing, stop worrying about not having enough ‘exciting things’ to shout about as 2019 draws to a close and just breathe. It’s so easy to get caught up in everyone else’s announcements and launches it can be hard not to compare but try to remember we’re all growing at different rates and that’s OK 🌱
Instagram is somewhere I like to express myself creatively, somewhere I can play with visuals and come up with just the right words to go with them. This week on Seedling I'm talking about creativity, how it reduces stress and why it can be an important part of our self-care routine 💕 Search for 'Seedling' wherever you get your podcasts and you'll find the link for the show-notes in my bio. What's your favourite way to express yourself creatively? 🌱 #SeedlingPodcast
At the start of this year I challenged myself to read 10 books by the end of the year (not a lofty goal, but quite a stretch for me) and I’ve now read 12 (and another one nearly finished) 🎉 over the last month or so though, my reading has slowed and I’m looking forward for more time over the coming weeks to get reading again because I find it offers so much, including... . 📚 a calming dose of escapism 📚 a burst of creative inspiration 📚 a big old dollop of comfort . As a writer it’s particularly important for me to read so I think it’s time I prioritised it again 💪 do you know how many books you’ve read this year?
This week on the blog I'm sharing 5 simple things I do each week that make life run just that little bit easier. Spoiler - they involve planning and routines, so if that's not your jam, you might want to give this one a miss 😅 Do you have any systems/routines in place that make your life easier? Link to blog in bio ❤️
I think the reason I was so drawn to this print by @rosieoneilluk was because it sounds so similar to ‘keep going’ and now, every time I need to give myself a lil’ pep talk, I tell myself to ‘keep growing’ 💪 🌱 because that’s how we learn, how we develop and how we take steps forward. When we ‘keep growing’ we collect evidence that we can do this and we start to believe in ourselves and that’s the energy I want more of us to bring to 2020 💫 if that’s something you’re looking for support with next year, I’m taking on coaching clients to start in January so pop me a DM if you think I could be the right person to help ❤️ do you have a mantra or phrase you use when you need a pep talk?
For many of us, liking and accepting who we are is difficult. I've certainly been on one hell of a journey with it all. This week on the podcast I'm talking about the radical act of liking ourselves and how we can develop self-acceptance 💕 I share some of my journey and some tips that may help you learn to like yourself a little more ✨ I'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode, is self-acceptance something you struggle with? #seedlingpodcast 🌱
