Hello everyone - how are you doing? I wanted to let you know that the blog is going to go quiet over the next couple of weeks because very exciting things are happening behind the scenes and a brand new website is going to be coming your way in January!
Blue Jay of Happiness launched on January 1st 2017 and as it approaches its third birthday I’ve decided it’s time to take it, and myself, a little more seriously. The look and feel of the website as it is now, isn’t bad at all, but it also isn’t me.
I’m quite restricted with it as it is now (to do with where it’s hosted, how much I pay for my package etc.) and it’s becoming super frustrating. For example, I can’t embed a podcast player to my Seedling show-notes and that is… very annoying.
Thinking about what I want my website to do (encourage people to learn about my coaching services and explore my content), I can see how the current design isn’t functioning as well as it could be. So I decided to make an investment and work with a designer to help me move my website somewhere new and create a shiny new design.
Spending this money wasn’t an easy decision. I’m still in the very early stages of business and am not making much money from it at all, so this really is a leap of faith. But I believe it’s worth it. I may not be where I thought I would be with my coaching work a year in, but I still believe I can make it work, with a little finessing and a lot of perseverance.
As well as working on a new website, over the next few weeks I plan to review my coaching packages and ensure what I’m offering is right for potential clients. On that note, I’ve made a survey and would love your input, especially if you’ve ever considered coaching with me but chose not to for a particular reason.
Writing, creating content and supporting others through coaching really is how I see my future, so I’m holding that vision and doing everything I can to make it happen.
Over the next couple of weeks you won’t be seeing any blogs or Seedling show-notes going live, but podcasts will continue to be released (you can subscribe wherever you get your podcasts on listen here), I will still be showing up over on Instagram and the December Monthly Musings newsletter will be going out on the 29th (subscribe here if you want to receive it).
I’ll be back with a new blog post to celebrate the new design in early January 2020, so I will see you on the other side! Until then, take care and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
